The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has exposed a shocking case of fraudulent mobilization involving a bread seller who was enrolled as a graduate by the University of Calabar (UNICAL) despite never attending the institution.

Shocking Nysc Revelation on Bread Seller

According to Daily Trust, General Ahmed praised the Vice-Chancellor of UNICAL, Professor Florence Obi, for her integrity in alerting the NYSC to the fraudulent activities within her institution.

This revelation follows the recent invalidation of 101 certificates by the NYSC, bringing the total number of voided certificates to 178.

He emphasised the NYSC’s commitment to purging its mobilization process of such fraudulent practices.

“The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar came here to report that she observed some names appeared on the institution’s list and they ought not to have been there. She checked the list the school gave us, and I told her that their certificates would be invalidated,” Ahmed stated.

Highlighting the severity of the issue, Ahmed narrated an earlier incident, saying, “Previously, a bread seller was mobilized on the graduation list from the same institution. There are bad eggs in many places that generate matriculation numbers and courses for their candidates.

The NYSC is taking a firm stance on ensuring that only qualified graduates are mobilized for national service, leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to maintain the integrity of the process.
